Thus, during virginal, oral and anal sex or just touching with hands, partners can contract the herpes virus.

After a person is infected with herpes, there can be a "Primary" outbreak. He should start treatment immediately but many are unaware that they have herpes. Without treatment, the HSV will hide in the nervous system quietly.

Most people diagnosed with a primary episode of genital herpes can expect to have an average of four or five symptomatic recurrences a year.
