Gential herpes (gentialherpes) is an infection of the genitals (the vulva and vagina in women and penis in men). Gential herpes is caused by the
herpes simplex virus (HSV).

through breaks in the skin may become affected.
There are two types of HSV, Type 1 HSV usually affects the mouth and its surrounding area but it can also affect the genitals, usually acquired
after oral sex. Type 2 HSV nearly always affects the genitals and is usually acquired after vaginal or anal sex.
